What is it
An external, authoritative and independent assessment of:
- the skills and professional experience of the person
- their strengths and weaknesses
- their real growth potential in the context in which they operate
- the appropriateness of their role and position in the organizational chart.
This assessment can be supported by the identification of tools for the professional growth of the person in the short term:
- Training courses
- Individual certifications
- Ad hoc coaching/mentorship
- Active participation in professional associations/clubs.
In the medium-long term, Malabo, together with the Client, can identify a possible path of professional growth for the person, which can be framed and aligned with the multi-year evolution plan of the organizational structure to which they belong and/or of the entire Company/Public Entity.
What are the objectives
Main objective for Companies/Entities with ICT supply or demand:
- verify that the various roles of the existing organizational chart are covered by people with the appropriate skills and abilities
- Optionally, assessment that the existing organizational chart is suitable for the objectives and the economic and cultural reality of the Company/Entity
- Identification of the most suitable and effective tools for the improvement and professional growth of the person
- in the short term
- in the medium-long term.
The Malabo intervention can refer to the entire Company/Public Entity, to its specific organizational units, to a specific group of people belonging to one or more organizational units of the Client.

In general, Malabo allows companies/institutions to have an independent assessment, based on consolidated European standards, of the actual capabilities and skills of the personnel who deal with ICT at various levels and roles, which in turn allows:
- to review and improve the internal organization
- to reduce discontent and tensions in the ICT environment
- to incentivize personnel to continuously improve
- to pragmatically and effectively support various company certifications (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 27001, etc.) and to comply with the various European and Italian regulations (e.g. privacy-GDPR, NIS2, DORA, etc.)
- to contribute to the analysis of the value of the company/institution for Merge/Acquisition, Due Diligence, etc.
How the assessment is implemented
The analysis and evaluation mainly refer to the European standard e-CF, European Competence Framework (UNI EN 16234-1:2020) and consider:
- The company role currently performed with the pros and cons that emerge
- from the person
- from the evaluations of his superiors and the personnel office (HR)
- The actual knowledge, skills and experiences at a technical, organizational, regulatory level
- The soft skills
- The level of study and individual certifications acquired
- The professional objectives of the person and of the company/organization in which he works.
The result of the assessment includes:
- The evaluation of the overall suitability of the person to perform a certain role
- Indications on how to improve professionally and with which tools
- Any alternative growth paths.
The main steps of the assessment
1. Definition, possibly at contractual level, of the scope of action, the objectives of the intervention and the list of professionals involved
2. Acquisition by Malabo, with confidentiality guarantee (also with NDA signature by all Malabo staff involved), of information on the professional activities of each professional involved:
- His CV, his current position in the organizational chart, his career within the Company/institution, official internal evaluations, remuneration, etc.
3. (Assisted) self-assessment of the professional's skills and experience through (alternatives or a mixed approach):

- Malabo spreadsheet
4. Interview (1-2 hours) with the person by Malabo experts
5. Malabo assessment, in an external, authoritative and independent manner, that the skills and experience acquired by the person are effective and suitable for the role covered
- Identification of tools to complete and enhance the skills based on the role (profile) covered
- Identification of possible and realistic professional growth in the Company/Institution
6. Production of the final report with assessments and graphs for each person involved and indications on the evolutionary possibilities of the organization as well.
